Continue the IYM Conversation BEYOND the IYM with Sorghum United

Greetings: We at Sorghum United would like to thank the leadership of the United Nations FAO in seeing through a successful International Year of Millets. Our organization took full advantage of the year as we began to grow our grass-roots level of sorghum and millets stakeholders around the planet. Our mission is to address hunger, malnutrition, and environmental and economic sustainability through the promotion of these grains into regional food systems. We have recently launched a refined global network platform! And, we invite you to join. Whatever your role in the sorghum and millets value chain. Follow the link to our Whatsapp Community page. There, you will find a General Forum, Researchers Forum, Producers Forum, Processors Forum, Industry Adjacent Professionals Forum, Consumers Forum and Policy-Makers Forum. Join any or all tailored to your interests. https://chat.whatsapp.com/JjF7gMSWP5F5DM7HvgYXti We are seeing large growth in our global stakeholder network. Meaning, this is an ideal platform for international networking and the exchange of ideas. As a NGO, Sorghum United does not receive any taxpayer funds. Nor do we solicit grants. We are self-funded through the sales of our Sorgho Squad children’s book series, which also serves our consumer development efforts. Thank you, Nate, for sharing this news about Sorghum United, and thanks also for the extensive work you and Sorghum United have been doing for sorghum as well as other millets. What you are building sounds like an exciting and useful set of forums for facilitating communication and networking in the global "millets space." Please feel free to transmit to Collab any items from this platform that you think may be of interest. Collab shares similar goals, but using a different medium, and with more of a continental focus (like NAMA). And by the nature of this medium, is building an archive of communications about millets. Different media can serve complementary purposes. The continental focus of NAMA and Collab is complemented by an international awareness - which is especially useful for the "millets space" in North America, since both cultivation and processing of many millets are more advanced in other parts of the world. Hence, for example, the Indo-U.S. Millets Initiative you have spearheaded with Dr. Satyen Yaadav provides a welcome and promising framework for exchange and learning , as well as for possible projects. Anyway, we look forward to ongoing collaboration in 2024 and beyond! All the best, Don DO, EL, MI, US NAMA On Fri, Feb 16, 2024 at 9:24 AM Sorghum United via Collab < collab@lists.millets2023.space> wrote:
