Updates: NAMA and The Rhyzosphere; help with website (WordPress)
Here's an update on a couple of things we're working on, and ways you can get involved. First, we are beginning collaboration with The Rhyzosphere, a digital network for the food and agriculture system, within which it is possible to develop communities. A few years back, as some of you may recall, we experimented briefly with Slack, but abandoned that in large part due to the potential expense of a full implementation. The Rhyzosphere is more than that, and different. In addition to facilitating communication within a community (such as NAMA), it incorporates features that faciitate connections among businesses and projects within and beyond a community. It is really made for food and ag. So we hope this will be an important new dimension to what NAMA is doing to promote millets as resilient crops and nutritious foods. Thanks to Joni and her colleagues in The Rhyzosphere for their work on this. More info to follow. Secondly, we are working on the design and implementation of our new website, and for that would like to ask for a volunteer(s) familiar with WordPress. I personally am familiar with WP basics from experience going back some 18 years, but have not kept pace with the newer developments and possibilities. We're ot looking for anything fancy, but rather an appealing and intuitive interface, that can accommodate information for education, extension, production, and consumption. We operate without financing, but can offer credit on the site in return. If you are interested, please contact me offlist.
