Re: [Collab] Collab Digest, Vol 13, Issue 12

SEPARATING MILLET: I started a business in 1990 called Millet Mills which I hulled millet but mainly cleaned for seed. I used a 4-screen Clipper followed by a gravity table. The Clipper was to take out large and small seed and leave the millet. The gravity table sorted by weight. If other seed, weeds, dirt, or trach were approximately the same size and weight, the gravity table was set to select only millet which often was only half the total weight....Gary Wietgrefe On Sat, Feb 25, 2023 at 5:00 AM <collab-request@lists.millets2023.space> wrote:

This message (below) was evidently intended for the list, but went to the admin address. I took the liberty if giving a more precise title. The text of the email is unchanged, but for removal of the sender?s phone number (recommemded, since ?ist archives are public). DO

Hello everyone,
I am glad to connect with all of you and eager to learn more about millets. I wanted to ask for feedback about removing lemma and palea in millets without damaging the seed. More specifically, foxtail and barnyard millets.
Have any of you experience in this subject?
Thanks,
Juan Di Salvo Plant Breeding Graduate Student
